Brows, Brows, Brows

March 9, 2011 at 12:59 am (Uncategorized)

If there is one thing that makes me crazy about women and their beauty regimens is the complete lack of brow care.  It doesn’t matter if you spend $350 on the perfect caramel highlights and another $275 on skincare products if your brows resemble hairy caterpillars instead of face-framing arches.

Carefully sculpted brows can do wonders for face framing and anti-aging.  A well-groomed arch can have the effect of an instant face-lift.

Follow this diagram to make sure your brows start, stop, and arch in the appropriate places.  Also, I highly recommend seeing a brow specialist at first.  She will be able to expertly aid you in your arch sculpting.

Once you have your perfect brows, adding brow powder can help those of us with light or sparse hairs.  I prefer a powder or gel to a pencil, because I feel that you get a more natural look- verses a harsh line.  Try Bare Escentals Brow Kit or Laura Mercier’s Brow Gel.

Peace, Love, and Mascara

January 3, 2011 at 12:19 am (Uncategorized)

New year, new resolutions, new beginnings. So along with your plans and goals of eating healthy, exercising, and generally being a better person, why not start with a generally better outward appearance? I don’t care who you are, everyone can benefit from a beauty makeover every once and a while. It’s simple science along with gravity and static cling, that when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you generally perform better whether at your job or picking out laundry detergent.

Having grown up in a house where my mother worked in cosmetics, myself working for a cosmetic company, and having a genetic predisposition be a beauty product junkie, I’ve picked up on some tips and tricks along the way, along with some horrific beauty massacres to stay far away from. I will post them hear for all to enjoy and hopefully indulge in.

So start 2011 with a fresh face and some new lipstick.
